John Marshall, former guitarist for Metal Church (1989-1993, 1998-2001) and, at the time, guitar tech for lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, filled-in as rhythm guitarist for James Hetfield (while still performing his duties as guitar tech) as Hetfield’s wrist was broken due to a skateboarding accident.
