Widely regarded as the best Pink Floyd live bootleg, this recording could almost pass for an official release. Pulled from the archives of Pink Floyd’s 1977 tour in support of Animals, this is a very unique show that features a huge “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” segue into several Floyd classics including “Welcome to the Machine” > “Have a Cigar” > “Wish You Were Here” back into the “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” finale that contains some mind-blowing improv jamming not heard on the Wish You Were Herestudio album. Also featured here is a masterful performance of my favorite Pink Floyd song of all time, “Dogs” (check out the jam starting at 3:25- three minutes of musical perfection), and the haunting encore, “Careful With That Axe, Eugene” (the last one ever performed live by the band). I can’t stress enough how perfect David Gilmour’s tone is on this recording.
